Our chef at HideAway Inn, tucked between Bucyrus, Marion, and Mansfield, Ohio, has scouted the area for the most festive 2013 drinks. Whether you are hosting a party, planning a girls night out, or indulging in a drink after a long day, we’ve put together a list of this year’s must-try drinks.
1)The Resolution Martini
No one said you have to make your resolutions before the New Year. There is still time! Write out your resolutions and cheers with this martini.
3 oz gin, 1 oz apricot brandy, ½ oz fresh lemon juice
Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker or mixing glass filled with ice. Stir well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
2)The office Party
Enjoy this drink with co-workers!
Ingredients: 1 part Hornitos Plata Tequila, ¼ part Pineapple juice, ¼ part lime juice, ¼ part black pepper, ¼ part American Pilsner beer, and ¼ part DeKuyper Mixed Berry Medley Schnapps.
Combine all ingredients (except for beer) in a shaker. Shake and strain into a shot glass. Drink and follow with the pilsner.
3)Pomegranate Champagne Punch
You can’t celebrate the New Year without champagne! This can also be easily modified for a non-alcoholic version.
Ingredients: 2 cups champagne, 1 cup pomegranate juice, 1 cup seltzer, ½ cup citrus vodka, lemon twist for garnish
Prepare: Combine all ingredients in a large bowl or pitcher and stir. Service over ice with a twist of lemon.
4)Gin, Chambord and Peppermint Sparkler
The fizz and pretty color of this drink will instantly put you in good mood.
Ingredients: 4 oz gin, 2 oz Chambord, 2 splashes peppermint schnapps, lemon-lime soda
Prepare: place the gin, Chambord and schnapps into a tall cocktail glass with ice. Stir the mixture and then top with soda. Serve Immediately.
