Hotel California:  Tribute to the Eagles, October 10, $54.00pp

The Original Tribute to THE EAGLES, Hotel California, prides itself on creating the illusion that their audience is listening to the authentic 1970s band. They’ve shared the stage with the Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, and REO Speedwagon. Hotel California’s tribute draws crowds of all ages with different musical styles: New Country, Classic Rock and hits such as, Life In The Fast Lane, Take It Easy, Desperado, Get Over It and many more. Dean Young joined the group in 2004. He plays drums and brings the vocal sound of Don Henley to stage. Andy LaPointe, with the band since 1987, plays bass guitar and lends his vocals to tunes like Rocky Mountain Way and Take It To The Limit. Rob Roberts joined the band in 1999. He brings that signature high falsetto to songs like Peaceful Easy Feeling and also plays electric guitar for the group. With the band since its inception in 1986 is Mike Dimoulas, who plays multiple instruments -- most notably the double-necked guitar. Their great harmonies have been enjoyed by audiences around the world.

Marion’s Civic Chorus & Orchestra present Handel’s Messiah, December 6, $40.00pp

This fine holiday concert, performed by the Marion Civic Chorus & accompanied by the skilled musicians of the Marion Civic Orchestra, features the beautiful music of Handel’s classic Messiah. Teaming up with area high school choirs, this production will feature an educational element as seasoned vocalists join together with young voices for a beautiful presentation of this community tradition. Veteran directors Ednita Vaflor and C. Gary Iams lead the choir and orchestra respectively.
